When I get time, I will give On1 a trial, but my plate is full at the moment! BUT, if I ever became disillusioned with ACDSee, I would likely move to C1. On the whole, I liked C1 well enough, but I didn't think it offered me enough incentive to work out a whole new workflow over. That alone is a useful productivity tool. And with Ultimate, I am able to remain within the same color management and user interface the entire time I am working on a photo. I missed the ACDSee Light Eq and Pixel targeting tools. The raw development in C1 is quite good, though not any better in my mind than ACDSee Pro or Ultimate. Certainly, complex searches were not possible, or at least I could not get it to work The photo management functions were pretty primitive compared to ACDSee and old Lr, but I suspect good enough for many people with basic needs. I've not tried On1, but I've tried the C1 free trials a few times, though not in the last year or so. On the market at the moment, there are only ACDSee and On1 offer All In One packages. Like I said elsewhere, this Adobe announcement is like an early Christmas gift to CaptureOne and ACDSee, since they are the two software companies best able to take quick advantage of the situation.

I can't imagine that any reasonably competent software publisher would not review their current policies and programs in order to figure out how to maximize their future sales. The recent Adobe announcement has changed the market considerably. The action scripts can also be user created as well. But as far a I know, presets are user created, only. This latest version of ACDSee Photo Studio has quite a few Action scripts built into it, and many of them sound like the sort of thing Lightroom calls presets. I've never heard of any policy that ACDSee would discourage third party development, but then again, you'd be amazed at what ACDSee, the company, doesn't tell me!

ACDSee's presets are proprietary as are their action scripts. Is ACDSee offer preset or third-party presets/styles? ACDSee Ultimate does the same thing as "Pro", but adds a bit mapped editor with layers and support for Photoshop Plugins.
